Understanding how scammers operate is your first line of defense. Know the pattern, break the trap.

Fake Official Call

Scammer calls posing as CBI/ED/Police officer, claims your Aadhaar/bank account is linked to money laundering or drug trafficking.

Forced Video Call "Arrest"

Victim is forced onto a video call. Scammer in fake police uniform shows fake arrest warrant, demands you stay on call or face "digital arrest".

Isolation & Panic

Victim is told not to speak to family or police. Kept in constant fear for hours or days. Psychological pressure to comply immediately.

Money Extortion

Demands transfer of money to "clear your name" or "secure bail". Victims lose lakhs to crores of rupees of their hard-earned savings.

Dial 1930 — the National Cyber Crime Helpline. Report the scam immediately. Available 24/7, completely free.

Call Local Police — 112

Call 112 and inform your local police station. Real law enforcement will verify and assist you immediately.

Report at cybercrime.gov.in

File an online complaint at the official National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal. Your complaint is handled confidentially.

Tell Your Family Immediately

Scammers demand secrecy to isolate you. Break the silence — tell a trusted family member or friend right away.

Do NOT Transfer Any Money

No legitimate government agency demands money over phone or video call. Any such demand is 100% a scam.
